How do chameleons change colour ??


Like a nature mood ring, the chameleon can change its colour to show feelings or just that it’s hot or cold. These unusual lizards change colour to show they want to mate or because of a temperature or light change. A chameleon’s skin has layers of cell that contain defferent coloured pigments. Heat or chemichal reactions in the lizard’s skin cause the different cells to expand or contract. If the lizard gets mad, the yellow cells will expand and block the other colours, so an angry chameleon looks yellow. A calm lizards looks green because the yellow cells contract some snd the blue shows through ( and blue tinged with yellow makes green)....
